 Given these considerations, addressing climate change is not only an environmental imperative but also a moral, economic, and social imperative. Environment, Climate Change and Health

During the last two decades it has been proven that environmental and climate changes are related to substantial physical and mental hazards of humans. There is an increase in infectious diseases, in cardiovascular diseases, in allergies as well as a rising incidence in tumor diseases. For an appropriate management of climate-, environment and health-associated difficulties in near future, an emphasis must be given in the understanding of the correlation between environment, climate change and health from a scientific and educational point of view. 

The planet is warming up by 0.2 degrees every ten years. At this rate, if we don’t take action to lower our GHGs, the planet will be 5.5 degrees hotter by 2100 causing catastrophic consequences. According to WHO, between 2030 and 2050, heat stress will cause 250,000 people to lose their lives. This does not include those deaths caused by the likes of weather disasters and malnutrition as a result of resource depletion.
